Carlissa, a 29-year-old woman whose bright spirit touched all who knew her, was one of the victims in a horrifying incident that unfolded on the night of March 31, 2026. Alongside her, a 75-year-old rideshare driver also lost his life, and a 30-year-old bystander suffered serious injuries.

That evening, a routine moment—getting into a rideshare—turned into a scene of unimaginable violence. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting two people shot inside a parked vehicle at Apache Manor, near 3600 E Young. The driver, believed to be a rideshare professional, was shot in the head and tragically died behind the wheel. Carlissa, the passenger, was shot in the backseat, and despite the heroic efforts of first responders attempting to revive her, she succumbed to her injuries. Her life, full of promise, was cut short in an instant, leaving a void that cannot be filled.

While law enforcement was investigating this heartbreaking scene, additional violent incidents occurred nearby, including multiple burglaries and an attack on a bystander. Authorities believe these incidents may be connected to a single suspect, 34-year-old Marsean Jacue Taylor, whose actions created terror across the community. The rapid escalation of violence led to a tense and dangerous confrontation between law enforcement and the suspect, ultimately ending with the suspect’s death following an officer-involved shooting.

Carlissa’s death is not just a number in a crime report—it represents a young woman with dreams, relationships, and a life that was abruptly ended.
