The community of Natchitoches is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Douglas Roberson, a young life taken far too soon. At just 22 years old, Douglas’s passing has left an indescribable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

In the early hours of Friday morning, tragedy unfolded along University Parkway when officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 3800 block shortly before 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Douglas, a resident of Coushatta, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Law enforcement officers immediately rendered aid, doing everything within their power to save him until first responders arrived. Despite those efforts, Douglas was later pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.

The devastating incident has left the community searching for answers, as investigators continue working diligently to uncover the truth behind this senseless act of violence. Authorities, including the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Northwestern State University Police Department, assisted in the initial response. Detectives have since been canvassing the area, speaking with witnesses, and gathering both physical and digital evidence to be analyzed in hopes of bringing justice to Douglas and his loved ones.
