On that evening, at approximately 9:41 p.m., what should have been an ordinary night turned into a scene of sorrow along the 1900 block of Krug Street. A vehicle, reportedly involved in drag racing, lost control and collided with multiple vehicles. In the chaos and destruction that followed, two innocent lives were lost—Rickey, a young man with his whole future ahead of him, and a child whose life had only just begun.

Rickey Thomas was 26 years old—a man in the prime of his life, filled with potential, dreams, and purpose. He was more than a name in a report; he was a son, a friend, and someone deeply loved. Those who knew Rickey will remember his presence, his personality, and the unique impact he had on the lives around him. His absence will be felt in the quiet moments, in the laughter that no longer echoes, and in the memories that now carry both warmth and sorrow.
