According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 9:06 a.m. along Friendship Road near Rodeo Drive. Robert was driving a Mack concrete truck southbound when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Despite the swift response of emergency personnel, Robert sadly passed away at the scene.
The Oconee County Coroner’s Office later identified the driver as Robert James Maxwell of Hartwell—a man whose life, though ended far too soon, left a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him.
