According to the Sioux City Police Department, emergency responders, along with Sioux City Fire Rescue, were called to the Love’s Truck Stop shortly after 8:30 p.m. following reports of a serious incident in the parking lot. Preliminary findings revealed that a semi-truck, pulling away from a gas pump, struck Joseph as he was walking through the lot.
Joseph was quickly transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he sadly succumbed to those injuries. The news of his passing has sent waves of grief through both Sioux City and his hometown of Omaha, where he was known and cherished.
