Firefighters responded immediately to the scene, confronting heavy flames and challenging conditions due to the home’s location tucked between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Despite their heroic and tireless efforts, Mason, Christin, and their infant child could not be saved. Two other individuals were rescued and treated on-site by Lancaster medics, a testament to the bravery and skill of first responders.

City Fire Chief Slade Schultz shared the grim reality: “Two people were rescued from the house and treated on scene.
