In Loving Memory of Austin B. Gentry
The Tangipahoa Parish community is mourning the tragic loss of Austin B. Gentry, 26, of Independence, who passed away on the night of March 28, 2026, following a serious crash on Interstate 55 near LA Highway 442. Whether spending time with loved ones, engaging with friends, or pursuing his personal interests, Austin lived with sincerity and a heartfelt commitment to those around him.
As the community grieves this tremendous loss, many are sharing memories, photos, and stories of Austin, celebrating the impact he made in his short time. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit, warmth, and the joy he brought to others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The Gentry family extends their deepest thanks to the first responders and all those who offered support during this difficult time. Plans for memorial services will be shared with the community, allowing friends and loved ones to honor Austin’s memory and pay their respects.
Austin B. Gentry will be remembered as a beloved son, a cherished friend, and a remarkable young man whose life, though tragically cut short, touched countless lives. May his memory be a blessing and his spirit forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
