In Loving Memory of Four Young Lives Lost Near Tiffin 🕊️
The evening of March 26, 2026, will forever be remembered as a moment of profound heartbreak for the communities of Tiffin, Bucyrus, and across Seneca County. In a single tragic incident, four young lives were lost, leaving behind grief, unanswered questions, and a deep sense of loss that words can scarcely capture.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. along State Route 18 near County Road 48 in Hopewell Township, just west of Tiffin. A Ford Focus traveling eastbound lost control, veered off the roadway, and struck a tree before becoming partially submerged in a nearby pond. In a matter of seconds, a routine journey turned into a devastating tragedy.
At the center of this loss are four individuals whose lives, though tragically brief, carried meaning, love, and connection:
Hermoiney Greenler, 19, of Bucyrus — a young woman at the threshold of adulthood, filled with dreams, ambitions, and a future that held endless promise. Her life, though short, touched those around her in ways that will never be forgotten.
Madison Yates, 21, of Tiffin — remembered as a bright and vibrant presence. At 21, she was building her path in life, creating memories and relationships that now live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Jonathan Bowling, 22, of Tiffin — a young man whose life was intertwined with family, friendship, and community. His absence leaves a quiet space that will always be felt by those who knew him best.
Alexzandria Hickle, 22, of Tiffin — who was transported to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital after the crash. Despite efforts to save her, she later succumbed to her injuries. Her strength, even in her final moments, reflects the resilience and spirit she carried throughout her life.
This tragedy is a painful reminder of how fragile life can be. One moment, there is laughter, conversation, and shared time; the next, there is silence, loss, and an emptiness that can never truly be filled. While the investigation into the crash remains ongoing, the sorrow felt by families, friends, and the wider community is already immeasurable.
In the face of such loss, communities often come together — to mourn, to remember, and to support one another. Candles will flicker in the night, prayers will be whispered, and memories will be shared as a way to honor the lives that were lost. These acts of remembrance become a testament to how deeply these individuals were loved.
To the families of Hermoiney, Madison, Jonathan, and Alexzandria, no words can truly ease the pain of your loss. But may you find comfort in the love that surrounds you, in the support of your community, and in the memories that will forever remain alive in your hearts.
Though their journeys ended far too soon, their impact will never fade. They will be remembered in laughter, in stories, in quiet moments, and in the lives they touched along the way.
May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their memories forever be a blessing. 🕊️
