In Loving Memory of Bradrick Michael Wells

It is with profound sorrow that the Waldorf and La Plata communities mourn the untimely and tragic loss of Bradrick Michael Wells, 27, who was taken from his loved ones on the evening of March 22, 2026. Bradrick, a beloved son, friend, and member of the community, leaves behind a void that cannot be filled.

On that fateful night, Bradrick was involved in a devastating incident in La Plata, Maryland. According to the La Plata Police Department, at approximately 10:25 p.m., officers were alerted by two witnesses near the intersection of La Plata Road and Radio Station Road. These individuals, who were in the back seat of a vehicle, reported that an argument escalated into a violent confrontation. The driver of the car, Dayton James Webber, 27, of La Plata, allegedly shot Bradrick, who was seated in the front passenger seat. Following the shooting, Webber pulled over on Radio Station Road near Llano Drive and asked the passengers to assist in removing Bradrick from the vehicle. When they refused and left the scene, Webber fled with Bradrick still inside the car.

Approximately two hours later, a resident in the 10000 block of Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, made a 9-1-1 call after discovering a body in their yard. Responding officers confirmed that the victim was Bradrick Michael Wells, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bradrick’s life was abruptly cut short, leaving family, friends, and his community in shock and mourning.

The ensuing investigation by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office led to the issuance of a warrant for Dayton James Webber. Webber’s vehicle was located in Charlottesville, Virginia, and he was found seeking medical treatment at a nearby hospital. Upon his release, Webber was arrested by the Albemarle County Police Department as a fugitive from justice. He is currently awaiting extradition to Charles County, where he faces charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and related offenses.
